Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement

Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co. KG (Ritter Sport) strives to make its website accessible in accordance with applicable legal regulations – in particular the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG).

This accessibility statement applies to the currently available version of the website www.ritter-sport.com and refers to the status as of January 24, 2025.

Status of Compliance with Requirements

The accessibility of our website is currently being comprehensively reviewed and continuously improved. Our goal is to fully meet the requirements of the WCAG standard (version 2.1 AA). Planned measures for further improvement will be implemented in the coming months – we will publish the results of the reviews here.

Which areas are currently not accessible?

Since we are currently conducting an assessment according to the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria, any existing barriers will only be documented in detail after the analysis is complete. We are currently aware that the following aspects still need to be optimized:

  • On one page, there are images without labels. Navigating to the images with screen readers is difficult.
  • On all pages, the contrast between text and background is too low.

Enforcement and Dispute Resolution Procedures

If your feedback does not lead to a satisfactory solution, you have the option of contacting the following body within the framework of the applicable regulations:

Responsible Market Surveillance

With the entry into force of the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) on June 28, 2025, the relevant state authorities (market surveillance authorities) will be the contact persons for companies in the private sector (such as Ritter Sport). For Baden-Württemberg, this will likely be the responsible ministry or a subordinate regional council. As soon as the specific body has been finalized, we will add this information here.

Arbitration Board pursuant to Section 16 of the Federal Disability Rights Act (BGG)

Regardless of the above, you can contact the BGG Arbitration Board at the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities for disputes concerning accessibility:

Address: Mauerstraße 53, 10117 Berlin

Telephone: +49 (0)30 18 527-2805

Email: schlichtungsstelle@behindertenbeauftragter.de

Website: www.behindertenbeauftragter.de/DE/SchlichtungsstelleBGG/1_Schlichtungsstelle.html

The BGG Arbitration Board supports the out-of-court settlement of disputes. The process is free of charge, and you do not need legal representation.
